Merihovi is an attractive functionalist-style hotel in the center of Kemi.
Hotel Merihovi have been built during the years 1946-1949. Over the years our hotel has visited the prominent figures of Urho Kekkonen, Mauno Koivisto, and Yuri Gagarin. During the past decades Merihovi has been owned by hotel chains and individual entrepreneurs. In 1999 Päivikki Palosaari bought and renovated Hotel Merihovi. It was re-opened in October 1999.
Merihovi has a total of 69 different size and distinct rooms, 4 meeting rooms, 1 sauna for the hotel guests, 2 saunas for groups (ordered separately). The upstairs restaurant Merihovi has long been one of the most recognized restaurants in Kemi. Downstairs Cafe & Night Bar Ankkuri has long been the living room of the locals. It serves lunch and à la carte menu. On weekends you can enjoy the sounds of rock ´n roll.
In addition, Mrs. Palosaari also owns one nightclub called Ilona. A music pub called Music bar Aatos and two cozy restaurants Ämmilä and Rantamakasiini. All of these are located in the heart of Kemi city.
